The 7.5 kW air conditioner was to be loaded on command and communication military shelter. This air conditioner is connected to a control panel to enable, among other things, the selection of the mode of operation of the air conditioner (ventilation, air conditioning, etc.), and setting the temperature set point. A PC software via an RS232 link facilitates maintenance of the air conditioner.

This air conditioner is connected to a control panel to enable, among other things, the selection of the mode of operation of the air conditioner (ventilation, air conditioning, etc.), and setting the temperature set point. Airborne cooling system

Cooling system of the SOSTAR-X antenna radar embarked on FOKKER 100 plane. The cooling system is composed of 3 elements:

  • CCU - Command control unit - 19" format unit located in the cabin of the plane ensuring the management of the LCU and transmitting information of temperature, pressure and flow of the liquid circuit to SOSTAR system,
  • LCU - Liquid control unit - Unit located in the compartment of the plane comprising power and measurement bodies,
  • HXU - Heat exchanger links - Exchanging air/liquid located in the tail of the plane.

Principal characteristics of the cooling system:

  • Cooling 8kW,
  • Heating 5kW,
  • Nominal flow rate of the liquid 23l/mn.

Principal characteristics of the CCU:

  • Power supply 28Vdc 2A max.,
  • Operating temperature -40 to +85°C,
  • Configuration by maintenance software via RS232 link,
  • Qualification RTCA-DO160D.

Principal characteristics of the LCU:

  • Main three-phase power supply 200Vac 400Hz 6,2kW max.,
  • Heating three-phase power supply 200Vac 400Hz 3,4kW max.,
  • Operating temperature -20 to +49°C,
  • Qualification RTCA-DO160D.

Principal characteristics of the HXU:

  • Operating temperature -50 to +70°C,
  • Inlet air flow 1,3kg/s,
  • Qualification RTCA-DO160D.
